CFDL Moodle workshops commence

Participants at the Introduction to Moodle
workshop held on April 16, 2009

The 2009 series of CFDL Moodle workshops got underway with the Introduction to Moodle workshop on April 16, 2009 at the Laucala Campus. Around 20 staff from the various Faculties and Departments of the university attended.

The participants were given hands-on experience at using basic tools in Moodle for online learning and teaching. Dr. Theresa Koroivulaono, Acting co-director of CFDL, emphasised that Moodle can be used to create dynamic learning environments and the focus of these workshops were on how Moodle could be used to make the learning and teaching experience more engaging.

Participants went through the basics of setting up an online course in Moodle, setting up their virtual office, posting resources, and communicating with students via discussion and news forums.

As part of professional development for USP staff, CFDL will be conducting further Moodle workshops in the coming months.
