MBA gets moodleised

MBA lecturers at the Moodle workshop
“MBA gets moodleised!” hailed Professor James Mcmaster, the Head of USP’s MBA programme after attending the Introduction to Moodle workshop which was held at the MBA Computer Lab on the 20th August, 2009. Six MBA lecturers attended the CFDL organised workshop.
The participants were given hands-on experience at using basic tools in Moodle for online learning and teaching. Workshop facilitators, Evan Naqiolevu and Javed Yusuf of CFDL emphasised that Moodle can be used to create dynamic learning environments and the focus of this workshop was on how Moodle could be used to recharge or enhance the learning and teaching experience.
Participants went through group discussions on how they envision using Moodle in their learning and teaching. They also went through the basics of setting up an online course in Moodle, setting up their virtual office, posting resources and communicating with students via discussion and news forums.
This workshop is part of CFDL’s efforts to customised Moodle training to suit the needs of a particular department/school or faculty. CFDL is anticipating delivering more Moodle workshops of this nature in the coming months.
