Mr. Valentine Hazelman, Acting Co-Director of the Centre for Flexible & Distance Learning attended the 51st ACODE workshop at Edith Cowan University in Joondalup, Perth, Australia from 16th – 19th November. The workshop covered Online Assessment and the many issues faced by tertiary institutions as more and more online learning and teaching takes place. This was followed by the ACODE business meeting.
ACODE, the Australasian Council on Open, Distance and E-Learning, is the peak Australasian organisation for universities engaged or interested in open, distance, flexible and eLearning. ACODE's mission is to enhance policy and practice in open, distance, flexible and e-learning in Australasian higher education. ACODE currently has 44 institutional members that include most Australian and New Zealand universities as well as the University of the South Pacific. ACODE holds around three workshops/meetings a year with upcoming workshops in 2010 to be held at the University of Tasmania, Queensland University and Massey University in New Zealand.
