The School of Law at Emalus campus was delighted to receive a generous donation from a group of alumni in Samoa. These former students, distressed by the damage of Tropical Cyclone Pam, raised funds to benefit the students and staff of the USP School of Law. The official handing-over of the cheque took place on Friday, May 8.
This funding will be used to purchase additional law texts for the Emalus campus library, where they will be made available to students, academic staff, and the local legal community.
“Your donation was most welcome, not only because of its value to the Library but also as a gesture of support from our alumni in difficult times,” said School of Law Head Eric Colvin in a later email thanking all the donors. “It is heartening to know that our alumni stand ready to help”.
