Visit by the Indonesian Ambassador
Category: Law News
In April of this year the University of the South Pacific, Emalus campus hosted a visit by the representatives of the Republic of Indonesia.
The purpose of this visit was to engage in discussions with the Campus Director and Head of the School of Law, Professor Peter MacFarlane, concerning possible areas of future cooperation. In particular, the Indonesian Ambassador indicated that his Government would be interested in promoting Partnership Scholarships for USP Law students to engage in higher degree studies in Indonesia and in providing opportunities for Law School staff to spend time as visiting scholars at Indonesian University's. The visit recognised the regional significance of SE Asian countries such as Indonesia, and the need for USP graduates to have an understanding of the legal systems of those jurisdictions. It was agreed that the Campus would continue its dialogue with the Ambassador.
