Vice Chancellor’s prize for Student Research in 2009

Moses Peter has all the reason to smile as he was awarded the Vice Chancellor’s prize for Student Research in 2009. He was awarded yesterday in front of the Campus Director, Professor Peter MacFarlane and Acting Head of School, Professor. Don Paterson a prize money of FJD 1000-00. Professor Don Paterson, Emeritus Professor of Law, who was Moses' supervisor for the research paper which Moses undertook for LW 390 Research Project in the LLB program. The topic of Moses' research paper was "The Social and Economic Effects of Leasing of Land on Lelepa Island, North Efate, Vanuatu" - a research on the social and economic issues facing indigenous land owners in Vanuatu.
Moses Peter hails from Lelepa Island, and is believed to be the first Lelepa student undertaking Law studies here at USP, Emalus Campus. He is currently in his fourth and final year at USP, School of Law.
