Qualifications and Introduction:
Diploma in Education, USP.
BSc, University of the South Pacific, Fiji
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science from USP, Mr.Kuilamu taught for eight years at various secondary schools in Fiji. In 1995 he completed his degree in Tourism Administration [Hons] at James Cook University, Australia and joined the Ministry of Tourism as a Senior Tourism Officer [Sustainable Development]. He was one of the local counterparts working closely with the consultants on the formulation of the Fiji Tourism Development Plan 2007-2016. He was the acting Principal Tourism Officer [SD] for the Ministry before joining USP in August, 2006.
Research and Consultancy:
Currently, working on his masters’ proposal “Operationalizing Sustainability through the use of Tourism Sustainability Indicators” supervised by Professor David Harrison.
Teaching:
Mr Kuilamu teaches tourism at first year level and also conducts face to face and satellite tutorials. Since joining USP he has also conducted tutorial visits for DFL students in Lautoka.
Administration:
School rep for the FBE Open Day committee
School rep for the FBE Post Graduate Open Day Committee.
Special Interests:
Sports especially rugby, volleyball and meeting people.
