The 14th Annual Pan Pacific Moot Court Competition will be held at the USP School of Law on September 20th, 21st and 22nd. Teams from the Queensland University of Technology, the University of Papua New Guinea and Waikato University of New Zealand have been invited to send teams to compete in this competition. The event is being coordinated by the USP Law School in cooperation with USPECSA.
The event will include preliminary rounds allowing each university to argue both sides of the problem against all other competing universities. The best two pairs of mooters (representing the appellant and the respondent) will proceed to the final round to compete for the Sibley Hill Cup.
In addition to entering a team in the competition, USP students are invited to participate (through USPECSA) in the organization of the event and as spectators. The event will take place during the mid semester break which will give all students an opportunity to be involved. In addition to the preliminary rounds and the final, there will be social events including an island feast which will be held on the final night of the competition. Schedules, rules and other information will be made available on the USP School of Law website.
