Since its inauguration in August 2001, PACE-SD has been working hard to build its own capacity in terms of finance; human resource and infrastructure to carry out its mandate effectively.
Human Resource: There are 3 categories of staff at the Centre ; there is a core group of staff which corresponds to the university funded positions for the Centre, followed by project-based staff (these positions are funded from Projects, Programmes) and visiting staff members.
Communication and information: Communication and information has taken a more structured profile within our Centre through the use of an extensive E –network, an environmental newsletter called Oceanic waves and the website.
