USP STAFF SCOOP RESEARCH AWARDS
Three staff members from the School of Accounting and Finance at the University of the South Pacific were honoured with outstanding research awards at the 2011 Winter Global Conference on Business and Finance held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Ms Shiro Devi, Ms Rashika Kumar and Ms Sherlin Raju were awarded for their paper on 'Regulation of Accounting Firms: Evidence from Fiji'.
Ms Raju was presented with the 'Best in Session' award for this paper while Ms Kumar and Ms Devi received the 'Best in Session' awards for their respective papers on 'Partnering with Practice: The Pacific Perspective' and 'Fair Value Accounting: The Accountants and the Users Perspective in Fiji'.
The Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics at USP, Professor Biman C Prasad commended the three researchers for their outstanding work.
The conference which was held from 2 - 5 January at the Flamingo Hotel, attracted participants from high quality institutions from around the world who presented their work on a broad mix of academic issues.
