BF201 Banking Management
Prerequisite: AF101 recommended
The main objectives of this course are to enable students to understand the major issues in the area of banking management; to familiarise themselves with fundamental financial models relevant to management of liabilities, credit, liquidity and profitability in banking firms; and to be able to use the various financial analysis techniques in understanding the typical banking management problems and taking managerial decisions. Thus the course is designed to lay a strong foundation for all higher level courses in the area of banking management.
BF202 Banking Law
Prerequisite: AF108 or Af205
This course covers the principal relationships and dealings commonly arising in the day-to-day business of a banker: introduction to banking law; banker–customer relationships; terms of account relationships; banks' duty of confidentiality; bills of exchange, cheques, other negotiable instruments and documentary payment orders; bank lending and security; international transactions; payment systems; and bank regulations.
