For Windows 2000 and XP machines:

The Procedure is straight forward as windows 2000 and xp machines usually install the drivers automatically.

1.Click on Start button and select run. Enter the path for the the shared network printer. Click OK.

2. The operating system then attempts to connect to the shared printer and then attempts to load the correct software driver.

3. Once this is successful the operating system will bring up a window as the one below onto your desktop
