2008

  • Cultural roles influence on Marine Managed Areas (MMAs) for Conservation International's MMA Project
  • Fisheries Study team member to Samoa for Commonwealth Secretariat
  • Led a Bibliographic Study of  Fisheries Development  in the Pacific Islands for Japanese International Co-operation Agency (JICA)

 

2007

  • Co-organised the production and offer of the Train-Sea-Coast course on Responsible Fishing in the Pacific Islands region: the implementation of the post- UNCED international instruments;

2005

  • Conducted a one week Socio-economic survey  for the Tikina of Nadogo, Dogotuki, Namuka and Udu with the aim of increasing income from the artisanal fishery and from the use of the Ice plant in Wainikoro. The survey was requested by the Japanese Overseas Fisheries Cooperation Foundation;
  • Co-Team Leader, Social and economic survey in Macuata and Bua as part of the Ecosytem-Based Management project;

2003 - 2004  

  • Led the Participatory Project Planning, Design and Development: Vunisinu and Nalase, Dreketi, Rewa ;
  • Rehabilitation of coastal habitats in Vanuaso Tikina, Gau, Fiji;
  • Coordinated and managed the preparation and offering of the Train-Sea-Coast course on Economics for community-based project management in the Pacific;
  • Organized and directed the offer of the Train-Sea-Coast course on Responsible fisheries in the Pacific Islands : implementation of post- UNCED instruments;

2002-2003

  • Coordinated the production and offering of the Train-Sea-Coast course on Responsible fishing and the economics for community-based projects;
  • Led the evaluation study on the Third Country Training Program on the Sustainable Use of Coral reef fisheries resources with special emphasis on Shellfish production and release in the Kingdom of Tonga;
  • Coordination of the Global International Waters Assessment (GIWA) for the Oceania region;

2001

  • Led a Team that prepared and conducted Participatory Learning and Action Training in Dili and Tutuala, East Timor

 

1997

  • Resource person for International Workshop on Marine Awareness for the South Pacific countries, USP/IOI, Suva, Fiji;

1996

  • Directed Marine Awareness Workshop  around Fiji ie. in Kadavu, Lautoka and Taveuni;

1993-1994 

  • Coordinated and co-directed course on Coastal Fisheries Management and Development, USP/IOI, Suva, Fiji;
  • Jointly prepared a 5 week course on Coastal Fisheries Management and Development, USP/IOI, Suva, Fiji.
  • Coordinated the International Workshop on Traditional Marine Tenure and the Sustainable Use of Marine Resources in ASEAN and the Pacific, USP, Suva, Fiji;
  • Prepared Overview of destructive fishing practices in the Pacific Islands region for SPREP
