Congratulations to the 2004 RHCE Award Recipients.

A total of seven participants obtained the Red Hat Certified Engineers/Technicians certificate from the thirteen (13) participants in total.

The Awards Ceremony was held on the 15th of March at USP. The Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Rajesh Chandra and JICA Fiji Office Resident Representative, Mr. Hideki Tomobe presented certificates to participants.

Over the two years the course has been offered, there have been a total of seven RHCE and seven RHCT recipients

A total of 13 participants attended the intensive 2-week course

The course comprised of 3 units: RH133 (Silver) and RH253 (Gold) were taught over the 2 weeks. RH302 was the exam, which was held on the final day of the course. The RHCE exam stands apart from many other IT certifications because of its emphasis on performance-based testing of actual competency in Red Hat Linux installation, configuration, debugging, systems administration and setup of key networking services and security.

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in collaboration with the University's 'ICT Capacity Building at USP' Project offered the RHCE course.
