Congratulations to the
2004 RHCE Award Recipients.
A total of seven participants
obtained the Red Hat Certified Engineers/Technicians
certificate from the thirteen (13) participants
in total.
The Awards Ceremony was held
on the 15th of March at USP. The Acting
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Rajesh Chandra and
JICA Fiji Office Resident Representative,
Mr. Hideki Tomobe presented certificates
to participants.
Over the two years the course
has been offered, there have been a total
of seven RHCE and seven RHCT recipients
A total of 13 participants
attended the intensive 2-week course
The course comprised of 3
units: RH133 (Silver) and RH253 (Gold) were
taught over the 2 weeks. RH302 was the exam,
which was held on the final day of the course.
The RHCE exam stands apart from many other
IT certifications because of its emphasis
on performance-based testing of actual competency
in Red Hat Linux installation, configuration,
debugging, systems administration and setup
of key networking services and security.
The Japan International Cooperation
Agency (JICA) in collaboration with the
University's 'ICT Capacity Building at USP'
Project offered the RHCE course.
