Equipment Handover Ceremony
List of the Equipment handed over
The
University of the South Pacific (USP) received
ICT equipment worth approximately FJ$1.4 million
from the Japan International Cooperation Agency
(JICA) at the USP Library Conference Room on Thursday,
September 23, 2004.
USP's Acting Vice-Chancellor
Professor Rajesh Chandra formally received equipment,
from JICA Fiji Resident Representative, Mr. Tadashi
Ikeshiro. Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. Esther Williams
presided the ceremony.
The equipment was donated
through the Project since its inception in 2002,
to USP. Equipment provision has been a major part
of project activities to support the three main
components of the Project: Computing Science (CS);
Distance and Flexible Learning (DFL) and ICT Research
and Training for Socio-economic development.

Management and counterparts, JICA officials and
invited press were part of the Ceremony.
