In collaboration with the University
of the South Pacific (USP) and Japan
International Cooperation Agency (JICA),
the "ICT Capacity Building at USP"
Project was implemented in July 2002
to enhance the ICT capacity of USP
with the overall aim of improving
education services for students.
Having now past the halfway mark
of the three year Project, the Project
held a one-day Conference on "ICT
in our Life", to share the progress
and results of major Project activities,
and to raise the profile of ICT usage
in our daily lives. The conference
included presentations from the three
main components of the Project: Computing
Science (CS); Distance & Flexible
Learning (DFL) and ICT Research &
Training for Socio-economic development.
The main target groups for the Conference
included USP staff and students, stakeholders
from government and the Private sector,
representatives from Civil Society
Organizations (CSOs) and Council of
Regional Organizations of the Pacific
(CROP), and Donor Agencies. |
