Gold Medallist and Assistant Lecturer at The University of the South Pacific (USP), Mr Dinesh Rao is thankful to the University for sponsoring its staff to undertake part time studies. Under this benefit, USP encourages staff to undertake a range of accredited pre-tertiary, undergraduate and postgraduate study which is related to the skills and needs of the Faculties and Sections in which they work in. Open education is about access to educational opportunities, the practice of open learning and engagement with open scholarship, said Professor Derrick Armstrong, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research, Innovation and International. Forty-eight (48) top achievers were awarded at The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) 2017 Medals and Prizes ceremony on 29 March at the Japan-Pacific ICT Centre at the Laucala Campus in Suva. USP Invests $700k for mobile learning - 29 Mar 2017 05:22:03 pm
The University of the South Pacific (USP) has started giving free tablets to its students at the Laucala Campus. Every new full time undergraduate student who has paid their first semester fees will be given a fully setup Dual SIM Android tablet including a leather case with keyboard, a power adaptor, a USB to micro USB cable,  and a USB to micro USB extension cable. These tablets have USB ports as well as capabilities of functioning as phones. Three students of The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Faculty of Arts, Law and Education (FALE) were awarded the Dean’s Award for the Most Outstanding First Year Students 2016 at the Laucala Campus on 24 March, 2017. They were Shameera Shahid from the School of Social Sciences (SOSS) who scored a GPA of 4.31, Ulamila Cagivanua, also from SOSS for a GPA of 4.25 and Reeha Sharma from the School of Education for a GPA of 4.25.
