The 83rd Council meeting of The University of the South Pacific (USP) successfully concluded at the Holiday Inn in Suva on 4 November 2016.
USP Council is the highest decision-making body of the University, and meets twice a year to discuss the affairs of the University. The two-day meeting, which began on 3 November, was chaired by the Pro-Chancellor and Chair of Council, Mr Winston Thompson.

The University of the South Pacific (USP) is putting emphasis on accreditation, placing students at the centre of its operations and making good progress with its regional campus developments, said Professor Rajesh Chandra, Vice-Chancellor and President of USP.
He made the comment while presenting his report to the 83rd Council meeting of USP at Suva’s Holiday Inn on 3 November 2016.
“Generally, we have been making good progress and we are on a good foundation for the next round of our development,” he stated.

The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Pacific Technical and Further Education (Pacific TAFE) has been declared a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) with Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) to deliver qualifications accredited within Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
Professor Rajesh Chandra, USP Vice-Chancellor and President congratulated Pacific TAFE on this huge achievement.

The University of the South Pacific (USP) officially signed the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Loan Agreement of US$15.4m for the development of the new Solomon Islands Campus.
The signing took place on 3 November 2016 during the University’s 83rd Council Meeting at Holiday Inn in Suva, Fiji Islands.

Members of The University of the South Pacific (USP) Council attended a workshop on the USP Convention during the first day of the University’s Council Meeting on 3 November 2016, at the Holiday Inn, Suva.

The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Lautoka Campus collaborated with the Fiji Cancer Society to host Pinktober Morning Tea at the Campus venue on 19 October 2016.
