USP student teachers receive First-Aid and CPR Training - 8 Aug 2016 03:10:58 pm
Thirty-five (35) final year student teachers from The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) School of Education (SOE) at the Laucala Campus successfully completed an intensive training on First-Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). CPR is an emergency medical procedure for a victim of cardiac arrest or in some circumstances, respiratory arrest. The training was organised by the School of Education and coordinated by the Fiji Red Cross Society. USP, Massey University renews MOU - 5 Aug 2016 12:19:11 pm
The University of the South Pacific (USP) and New Zealand’s Massey University signed the renewal of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to formalise and standardise the relationship between the two parties for another five (5) years. The MOU is a fruition of the efforts made by USP’s Faculty of Arts, Law and Education (FALE) under the leadership of the Dean, Dr Akanisi Kedrayate and initiated by the School of Social Sciences under the Social Work Programme. Good turnout at USP Open Day in Tuvalu - 3 Aug 2016 03:07:04 pm
About 100 students from Fetuvalu High School, Tuvalu Seventh Day Adventist School and Nauti Primary school turned up during The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) 2016 Open Day, along with other members of the public, in Tuvalu on 29 July.  Chief Guest at the occasion was Dr Tufoua Panapa, the Assistant Secretary for the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports, who is currently the Acting Permanent Secretary.  In his keynote address, Dr Panapa emphasised the importance of education and urged students to work hard at all times and make good use of the opportun... The University of the South Pacific (USP) Labasa Campus Open Day on 29 July 2016 saw the participation of 27 schools from around Vanua Levu. The event was officiated by the Special Administrator of Labasa and Savusavu town, Mr Vijay Chand. In his address, Mr Chand told close to 2500 students that USP has always been a very important partner in terms of the development of human resources especially at senior and middle management level in the North, adding that, “we wish to see the continuation of this effective and strategic relationship in the years to come.” ... The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Lautoka Campus 2016 Open Day concluded on a high note on 29 July 2016. The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) School of Tourism and Hospitality Management (STHM) recently welcomed a new staff member, Senior Lecturer, Dr Alexander Trupp who joins the University from Mahidol University, Thailand. A final year Journalism student of The University of the South Pacific (USP) is back in the country after undergoing a two-week internship programme organised and sponsored by the Pacific Corporation Foundation (PCF) in New Zealand.
