The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) 50th Anniversary was officially launched by His Excellency Major General (Ret’d) Jioji Konusi Konrote, Chancellor of USP and President of the Republic of Fiji at the Laucala Campus on 5 February 2018. During the launch, Professor Rajesh Chandra Vice-Chancellor and President of USP extended a special welcome to H.E Konrote saying that his presence made the event more meaningful as Fiji has been at the forefront of the development of the University. The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Faculty of Arts, Law and Education (FALE) welcomed its new students at a packed Australia-Pacific lecture theatre at the Laucala Campus on 31 January 2018. Dr Akanisi Kedrayate, Dean of FALE extended a warm welcome to the students and congratulated them for securing a place at the University and particularly with FALE. The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) 2018 Orientation Week was officially launched by the Honourable Jone Usamate, Fijian Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, at the Laucala Campus on 29 January 2018. Mercury Sampling Training benefits IAS staff - 22 Jan 2018 04:48:59 pm
The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Institute of Applied Sciences (IAS) Laboratory Services staff were trained on Mercury Sampling by the Institute of Developing Economies (IDEA) Inc consultants from Japan who visited Fiji in December 2017.  The training, which was held at the IAS laboratory at the lower campus in Laucala is part of an initiative by Japan’s Ministry of Environment on monitoring mercury levels in the Pacific Island region.
