A total of 1,321 students will be graduating from The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) second graduation ceremony for 2018 at the National Gymnasium over a two day period from 20-21 September.

Five postgraduate history students of The University of the South Pacific (USP) visited Auckland, New Zealand from 17-26 August 2018 to collect research data on the impact of gifting to customary practices on living standards in the diaspora.
Eleven Samoan families mostly in South Auckland were interviewed and selected on their known contribution to a customary practice in July 2017.

The University of the South Pacific (USP) held its second Vice-Chancellor’s Staff Forum for the year at the Japan-Pacific ICT Multipurpose Theatre on 14 September, 2018.
The forum was hosted by Professor Richard Coll, Acting Vice-Chancellor & President and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Learning, Teaching and Student Services (LTSS).
Professor Coll welcomed staff and highlighted that the Forum was an avenue where they are encouraged to raise any issues or concerns they may be facing in their various areas of work.

The Vice-Chancellor and President’s second Student Forum for 2018 of The University of the South Pacific (USP) was held at the Japan-Pacific ICT Multipurpose Theatre on 14 September 2018.

The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Graduate School of Business (GSB) is offering the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme at its Emalus Campus in Vanuatu this trimester.
The programme begins this week and the first course will be completed in 5 weeks.
A total of 35 successful students who received their offer letters to do the MBA programme attended the three-hour orientation programme on 10 September 2018 at the Emalus Campus Conference Room.

The University of the South Pacific (USP) participated in a breakfast side event at the Menen Hotel on 6 September 2018, in conjunction with the 49th Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting in Nauru that was held from 4-6 September 2018.

Two (2) PhD students from The University of the South Pacific (USP) recently participated in the Pacific Postgraduate Talanoa online seminar series, coordinated by the Auckland University of Technology (AUT) Vakatele Pacific Research Network.

An inaugural election management programme will soon be offered by The University of the South Pacific (USP) following the signing of a partnership agreement with the Fijian Elections Office (FEO), Embassy of Indonesia in Fiji and the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA), at the Laucala Campus on 5 September 2018.

A team from The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Centre for Flexible Learning (CFL) based at the Laucala Campus visited the Labasa Campus on 3-6 September 2018.
Mr Eroni Racule, Learning Designer was at the Labasa Campus to conduct research in evaluating student’s perceptions of their learning experiences in a blended course.
