USP Lautoka Campus trains unemployed youth - 21 Feb 2018 02:23:24 pm
Forty-two (42) unemployed youths from Lautoka went through an eight (8) week Office Assistance Training programme at The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Lautoka Campus to equip them for new job markets. The training concluded on 19 January 2018. The Youth Employment Network (YEN) training programme was a result of the partnership between the Lautoka Campus, Foundation for Rural Integrated Enterprise and Development (FRIEND) and the participants were fully funded by OXFAM Fiji. The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) annual Entrepreneurial Fair was launched by the Honourable Mr Faiyaz Siddiq Koya, Fiji’s Minister for Industry, Trade, Tourism, Land and Mineral Resources at the Laucala Campus on 19 February, 2018. The new Australian High Commissioner, His Excellency Mr John Feakes, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor and President of The University of the South Pacific (USP), Professor Rajesh Chandra on 14 February 2018. H.E Mr Feakes started his term at the Australian High Commission in November last year, replacing Her Excellency Ms Margaret Twomey. New students attend orientation at Emalus Campus - 19 Feb 2018 04:23:22 pm
The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Emalus Campus in Port Vila, Vanuatu organised a successful orientation session on 1-2 February, 2018, which assisted new students at the University for the first time in Semester 1 this year. The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) School of Education (SOEd) has for the first time begun the delivery of a cohort-based Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) in Vanuatu. The Vice-Chancellor and President of The University of the South Pacific (USP), Professor Rajesh Chandra, has been awarded by The International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education (THE-ICE) for his outstanding contribution in Tourism and Hospitality education, and training and research. The prestigious Fellow of THE-ICE award which Professor Chandra received is the highest order award given by THE-ICE to any person across the globe.
