The University of the South Pacific (USP) hosted a seminar on 28th June, 2019 to share preliminary findings of the Marine and Fisheries Management training needs and gap analysis in 15 Pacific countries, conducted under the Pacific European Union Marine Partnership (PEUMP) Programme. The USP is one of four key implementing partners of the PEUMP programme, which is funded by the European Union (EUR 35 million) and the government of Sweden (EUR 10 million). Nadi School wins Robocon High School Competition - 2 Jul 2019 10:53:11 am
Nadi-based Sangam SKM College won the Robocon High School Poster Competition when they introduced “SASAMAKI” at The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Laucala Campus on 28 June 2019. “SASAMAKI” is an i-taukei phrase that means clean-up. Over the decades there have been numerous competitions such as clean-up Fiji, Waidamudamu clean-up campaign, Solevu Clean-up campaign and 3R campaign within high schools and nationally. The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) School of Geography, Earth Science and Environment and the Commission on Local and Regional Development of the International Geographic Union (IGU) hosted a conference on Development Challenges in Rural and Urban Areas at the Marine Campus from 25 -28 June 2019. USP wins inaugural Domestic ROBOCON Competition - 27 Jun 2019 01:49:12 pm
The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) team scooped first place at the inaugural Domestic ROBOCON competition on 28 June 2019. USP’s MR1 robot faced off against the Fiji National University (FNU) robot (MR1) in an all-out final battle round and managed to complete the tasks, miles ahead of its competitor. USP’s winning team included; Vivek Shankaran, Giraldeau Erone, Shyamal Chand, Sonal Muni, Deepikesh Sharma and Shivan Singh.
