Early Childhood Education students at The University of the South Pacific (USP) held a successful Show & Tell programme at the School of Education (SOEd) at the Laucala Campus on 16 May 2019.
The students displayed their work in terms of learning & teaching resources coming out of microteaching lesson plans to mind maps/concept maps, big books for children, flash cards, rhyme charts, song charts, ganes and many activities that will stimulate and engage young children’s minds.

Vanuatu Prime Minister opens USP’s 88th Council Meeting - 17 May 2019 08:47:15 am
The 88th Council meeting of The University of the South Pacific (USP) was officially opened by the Prime Minister of Vanuatu, Honourable Charlot Salwai, on Thursday 16 May 2019 in Port Vila, Vanuatu.
In his welcome address, the Pro-Chancellor and Chair of the Council, Mr Winston Thompson acknowledged the Prime Minister for availing himself to officiate over the opening of the meeting and addressing the Council members.

Staff of The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) in Vanuatu met with Professor Pal Ahluwalia, Vice-Chancellor & President at the Emalus Campus on Monday 13 May 2019.
Professor Ahluwalia, who is in Vanuatu for the 88th Council meeting, thanked all staff for their contribution to the success of the University.

FALE’s Fijian Language Programme Receives Funding - 14 May 2019 11:18:25 am
The Fijian language programme at The University of the South Pacific (USP) continues to be sustained following funding to the tune of $22, 220 from the iTaukei Trust Fund Board (TTFB).
A cheque was presented in this regard by Dr. Apolonia Tamata, Senior Program Specialist of TTFB, to Dr Akanisi Kedrayate, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Law and Education (FALE) on 29 April 2019.

Pacific TAFE opens additional facility at Lautoka Campus - 14 May 2019 11:16:11 am
The increasing demand for more quality programmes with The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Pacific Technical & Further Education (Pacific TAFE) has led to the securing of an additional facility at the University’s Lautoka Campus.
The new facility will have teaching rooms and staff workstations whilst Library, ITS and other services and will be accessed from Lautoka Campus. This facility will allow Pacific TAFE to start new programmes and increase enrolments in existing offerings.

USP hosts successful 18th Chinese Bridge Competition - 8 May 2019 09:00:11 pm
The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Confucius Institute held a successful 18th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition at the Laucala Campus on 6 May 2019.
With 10 student participants from USP, the theme of this year's competition is "One World, One Family".
The competition, which was won by Natasha Chan, 18, a student majoring in Law, featured speeches and a talent show. In second place was Tania Wickham, 23, also a Law student.
