USP and Government of Niue sign new MOU - 22 May 2019 03:15:39 pm
The University of the South Pacific (USP) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Niue for the establishment of the Centre for Excellence in Information Technology (CEIT) at USP’s Niue Campus. The MOU was signed by USP’s Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Pal Ahluwalia and Niue’s Minister for Education and Health, Hon. Billy Talagi at the 88th USP Council meeting in Port Vila, Vanuatu on 16 May 2019. Students receives Sustainable Energy Certificates - 22 May 2019 09:13:23 am
A course developed and accredited by the European Union-funded Pacific Technical Vocational Education Training (PacTVET) through The University of the South Pacific (USP) saw a cohort of 40 participants graduating in Bio Gas from eight island communities in Tuvalu on 30 April 2019. The 10-day training by SPC Trainer Nixon Kua was held at the USP Tuvalu Campus while practical lessons were done out in the field. Niue, Tonga ratify USP Convention - 21 May 2019 10:31:42 am
Niue and Tonga are the latest members of The University of the South Pacific (USP) to ratify the USP Convention. The Government of Niue ratified the USP Convention at the 88th Council meeting in Port Vila, Vanuatu on 17 May 2019, while the Tongan Government ratified it prior to the meeting. The Office of External Affairs of the Government of Niue presented its compliments in doing so to Mr Winston Thompson, the Pro Chancellor and Chair of the USP Council. FALE’s Fijian Language Programme Receives Funding - 14 May 2019 11:18:25 am
The Fijian language programme at The University of the South Pacific (USP) continues to be sustained following funding to the tune of $22, 220 from the iTaukei Trust Fund Board (TTFB). A cheque was presented in this regard by Dr. Apolonia Tamata, Senior Program Specialist of TTFB, to Dr Akanisi Kedrayate, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Law and Education (FALE) on 29 April 2019. Pacific TAFE opens additional facility at Lautoka Campus - 14 May 2019 11:16:11 am
The increasing demand for more quality programmes with The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Pacific Technical & Further Education (Pacific TAFE) has led to the securing of an additional facility at the University’s Lautoka Campus. The new facility will have teaching rooms and staff workstations whilst Library, ITS and other services and will be accessed from Lautoka Campus.
