CI-USP holds successful 17th Chinese Bridge competition - 15 May 2018 10:47:59 am
The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Confucius Institute (CI) held a successful 17th Chinese Bridge Competition at its main Laucala Campus on 12 May 2018. Ilaisa Senimoli, 27 and Sofia Adituraga Mucunabitu, 21, will participate in the final competition in Changsha, capital city of China's Hunan province in July this year after scooping the first and second prizes respectively. The University of the South Pacific (USP) School of Journalism Coordinator, Dr Shailendra Singh was the lead facilitator at a United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)-sponsored week-long anti-corruption training for news media in the Solomon Islands from 9 to 13 April, 2018. SOEd PGCTT qualification gets UK accreditation - 10 May 2018 04:48:30 pm
The University of the South Pacific (USP) School of Education's (SOEd), Post Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching (PGCTT) professional teaching qualification for practicing tertiary teachers has  been accredited by the United Kingdom-based Staff and Educational Development Association (SEDA). The PGCTT is a fully online programme. USPSA Laucala officially opens Bus Shelter project - 9 May 2018 03:55:52 pm
The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Students Association Laucala (USPSA Laucala) officially opened their Student Bus Shelter on 3 May 2018, a project funded by USPSA Laucala. The bus shelter, which costed FJD 25, 480 is located next to the Tennis Court and the University gym, and provides shelter for students waiting for the University shuttle to and from its Statham, Marine and Upper Campuses. The University of the South Pacific (USP) is once again the champion of the European Union - Fiji University Quiz Challenge held for the second time at the University’s Japan – Pacific ICT Multipurpose Theatre, Laucala Campus, on 7 May 2018. USP donates Braille Eye-Slate device to Samoa Blind Persons Association - 3 May 2018 03:27:24 pm
The University of the South Pacific (USP) has extended its innovative Braille Eye-Slate device to support the Samoa Blind Persons Association (SBPA). The device was handed over in a ceremony at the Nuanua o le Alofa office in Apia, Samoa on 27 April, to the President of SBPA, Ms Mataafa Faatino Utumapu, together with the Assistant Director of USP Alafua Campus, Le Mamea Sia Matalavea who commemorated the event. A book lead authored by Professor Prem Misir, Vice-Chancellor of University of Fiji, The Subaltern Indian Woman: Domination & Social Degradation was launched at The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Lower Campus on 2 May 2018.
