Pacific Technical and Further Education (Pacific TAFE) of The University of the South Pacific (USP) has reached new heights of success when its Certificate IV in Accounting and Diploma of Accounting (Level 5) received international recognition by Skills International, New Zealand. Skills International is a solely owned subsidiary of the Skills Organisation, New Zealand’s largest industry training organisation, providing training management and support to over 20 industry sectors. USP’s Pacific TAFE responds to Kiribati skills need - 10 Aug 2017 12:55:25 pm
The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Pacific Technical and Further Education (Pacific TAFE) has commenced four (4) cohorts in skills based programmes in Kiribati. This is to respond to immediate skills capacity needed by the Kiribati Government. The first one to start is Diploma of Accounting (level 5) which reflects accounting job roles in financial services and other industries requiring accounting support functions. Vanuatu Government reiterates support at Emalus Open Day - 8 Aug 2017 09:50:08 am
The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Emalus Campus Open Day in Vanuatu on 4 August 2017 was a worthwhile event with hundreds of students and members of the public in attendance. Those who attended included Honourable Ham Lini Vanuaroroa, Minister for Climate Change, USP Campus Manager Reuben Makward, staff and students, visiting students and teachers, and parents and guardians. The non-resident Ambassador of Israel, His Excellency Tibor Schlosser paid a courtesy visit to The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Laucala Campus on 26 July, 2017, expressing Israel’s intention to establish links with the University. USP Wins Pacific Innovation Challenge 2017 - 7 Aug 2017 02:36:15 pm
Two teams from The University of the South Pacific (USP) were declared the winner and second runner up at the ANZ Pacific Innovation Challenge 2017 on 5 August 2017 at the Grand Pacific Hotel, Suva. The teams Chai-Yo and Tranquillity were two (2) of six (6) teams of USP who were up against teams from the Fiji National University and University of Fiji. More Programmes offered by Pacific TAFE - 7 Aug 2017 11:02:26 am
This year’s Open Day was a historical one for The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Pacific Technical and Further Education as it showcased pre degree and sub degree programmes together. This was the result of merger of College of Foundation Studies and former Pacific TAFE into a new Pacific TAFE last year. The event was hugely successful in Laucala as its booth was open from 8 am to 8 pm. Pacific TAFE staff based at regional campuses actively promoted both level programmes to potential students. Instruments of USP Convention deposited at Fiji’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs - 4 Aug 2017 01:31:11 pm
The University of the South Pacific (USP) deposited instruments for the USP Convention to the Fiji Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Suva on 3 August, 2017. In doing so, Mr Winston Thompson, Pro-Chancellor and Chair of the USP Council explained that having a Convention was necessary to enable USP to have a legal standing within its member countries. “As you know USP is established under the Royal Charter when it first came to being back in 1968 and legal advice then was that the Charter is a satisfactory and sufficient legal base for the University going forward. ... Czech books for Nauru Campus library - 4 Aug 2017 09:18:03 am
The Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Philippines, Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Palau and Nauru, His Excellency Jaroslav Olsa, Jr.  donated books to The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Nauru Campus Library as part of his courtesy visit to the Campus last month.
