A first-year Law student of The University of the South Pacific (USP) has successfully completed the world- renowned Hollywood Immersive Programme. The University of the South Pacific (USP) has announced the appointment of Dr Johann Poinapen to the position of Director at USP’s Institute of Applied Science (IAS). Dr Johann joined IAS as the Deputy Director in October 2014 and has acted as the Director IAS since January 2015.  A former Principal/Lead Water Process Engineer at Association of Mining and Exploration Companies Australia (AMEC) and a former Water Leader and Engineering Group Manager with MWH Global, Dr Poinapen is a registered and chartered professional engineer with over 17 years of experience in the ... The Journalism Programme at The University of the South Pacific (USP) has revived its tradition of having a media conference with the University’s Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Rajesh Chandra. Professor Chandra welcomed the action on a positive note, stating that he was pleased to have the media conference once again. The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) School of Tourism and Hospitality Management (STHM) participated at the inaugural World Tourism Day Fair at Sukuna Park in Suva, Fiji on 27 September, 2016. Thailand Government interested in Pacific Studies Programme - 28 Sep 2016 04:24:50 pm
There is potential for The University of the South Pacific (USP) to collaborate with the Government of Thailand to set up Pacific Studies programme in Thailand universities. This idea was part of discussions during a visit by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand’s Diplomatic Officer, Mr Patchara Ponum to the University on 22 September 2016. USP’s Pacific TAFE to train civil servants in Solomon Islands - 28 Sep 2016 11:53:58 am
The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Pacific Technical and Further Education (Pacific TAFE) recently won a tender to train one hundred and twenty-five (125) civil servants from Solomon Islands in Certificate IV in Project Management Practice in Honiara. The Acting Prime Minister of Fiji, Honourable Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum inaugurated the first ever Coding Carnival at The University of the South Pacific (USP) on 24 September 2016. The Coding Carnival is a Microsoft Initiative at USP. A project supported by The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Pacific Centre for Environment and Sustainable Development (PaCE-SD) saw the launch of a new coastal revetment at Vusasivo in Natewa, Cakaudrove on 7 September 2016. The province of Cakaudrove is located in Vanua Levu, Fiji’s second largest island. A workshop on Open Education Resources (OER) organised by The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) School of Education (SOEd) was opened by Mr Iowane Tiko, Permanent Secretary for Education, Heritage and Arts at the Japan-Pacific ICT Centre in Laucala on 21 September, 2016.
