USP adopts new Vision for 2019-2024 - 8 Dec 2017 12:24:38 pm
Six winners were successfully selected for participating in a competition for The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Vision 2024 for the New Strategic Plan 2019-2024.
The vision for the New Strategic Plan was approved by the University Council of its 85th Council Meeting in October this year. It will guide the University over the next six years, and form the basis for the formulation of the new Strategic Plan and also assist USP in the identification of Key Priorities Areas.

One hundred and ninety two (192) students from nine countries graduated from The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Emalus Campus in Vanuatu on 1 December 2017.
His Excellency Major General (Ret’d) Jioji Konusi Konrote, USP Chancellor and President of the Republic of Fiji conferred the Degrees and awarded the Diplomas and Certificates to the graduating students during the ceremony.

USP’s Marine Collection registered with Global Biodiversity Information Facility - 5 Dec 2017 09:25:01 am
The Marine Collection Unit of The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) School of Marine Studies (SMS) has been officially registered with the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF), an open-data platform which provides biodiversity data on all types of animals and plants from around the world.
USP is now part of an international network of 1,130 biodiversity data publishers, which include the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC, America and the Natural History Museum in London, United Kingdom.

USP Tuvalu Campus develops inaugural MBA cohort - 5 Dec 2017 09:20:30 am
It was a dream come true for seventeen (17) students of The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Tuvalu Campus to be part of the inaugural Master of Business Administration (MBA) cohort on 13 October, 2017.
An elated Dr Rosiana Lagi, Tuvalu Campus Director said the students waited two years before their dream of taking MBA became a reality.
This follows the successful negotiation by Dr Lagi with Mr Fakavae Taomia, the then Acting Secretary to the Tuvalu Government for the funding of the cohort.

The University of the South Pacific successfully completed its Annual Risk Focus Workshop in Suva, Fiji on 27 – 28 November 2018.
The workshop brought together members of the University’s key functional areas including the Senior Management Team (SMT), directors from selected regional campuses, members of the Audit & Risk Committee (ARC), Council and members of the Internal Audit Function.

The use of traditional knowledge approach to promote social and emotional learning competencies was presented by Dr Rosiana Lagi, The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Tuvalu Campus Director at a recent workshop organised by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Lautoka, Fiji.

A Visiting Adjunct Professor at The University of the South Pacific (USP), Dr Ravindra Chandra Joshi recently edited a second book on Invasive Apple Snails, published by the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice).
