Proud Moment for Pacific TAFE Students - 29 Mar 2018 01:55:46 pm
A total of three hundred and forty one (341) Pacific Technical and Further Education (Pacific TAFE) students graduated from The University of the South Pacific’s (USP’s) first Laucala graduation ceremony on 22 March 2018 at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva. USP’s 24th Chancellor, His Excellency Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konusi Konrote conferred the diplomas and certificates to all Pacific TAFE graduates. The University of the South Pacific (USP) and Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), as long–standing strategic partners, discussed and agreed on a way forward for laying the foundation for the new USP-Australia Partnership for the period 2019-2024, at a successful bilateral High Level Consultation (HLC) held in Canberra on 19 March 2018. Rear Admiral (Ret), Honourable Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama, Fijian Prime Minister and Minister for i-Taukei Affairs, Sugar Industry and Foreign Affairs and Honourable Ron Mark, New Zealand’s Minister for Defence unveiled the Commemorative Monument to the 5 Squadron of the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) on 23 March 2018, in celebration of The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) 50th Anniversary. Hard work and sacrifice finally paid off for The University of the South Pacific (USP) students who graduated from the Faculty of Business and Economics at the National Gymnasium on 23 March 2018. On 22 March, two graduation ceremonies were held for the the Faculty of Science, Technology and Environment (FSTE), Faculty of Arts, Law and Education (FALE) and the Pacific Technical and Further Education (Pacific TAFE). A total of seven hundred and eighty eight (788) students from The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE) were awarded certificates, diplomas and degrees at the National Gymnasium on23 March 2018. Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) graduate in Geography Elina Kaufusi Bloomfield has urged her fellow graduates never to be satisfied with today, embrace the future and become shining stars of nations and oceans of the Pacific. A total of 1,774 students will be graduating from The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) March graduation ceremony for 2018 at the National Gymnasium over a two day period from 22 to 23 March 2018. On the 22 March, a total of 983 students graduated in a two part ceremony with 642 students graduating in the morning ceremony from the Faculty of Arts, Law and Education (FALE) and the Faculty of Science, Technology and Environment (FSTE); while 341 students were awarded the certificates and diplomas from the Pacific Technical and Further Education in the afternoon ceremony. “Talking to the Ancestors” Exhibition Officially Opened - 21 Mar 2018 12:48:10 pm
The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Oceania Centre for Arts, Culture and Pacific Studies (OCACPS) has officially opened its “Talking to the Ancestors” Exhibition, which will be open to the public for a month from 19 March – 20 April 2018. This multimedia exhibition that features over 500 photographs spanning five (5) decades of service to the region, presents a rare insight into the communal albums of USP by providing current members of the University including students, staff, alumni, stakeholders and the wider community, a look back and across time.  ... Samoa’s Minister for Communication and Information Technology (MCIT) Honourable Afamasaga Lepuia'i Rico Tupai paid a courtesy visit to The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Laucala Campus on 15 March 2018. Professor Rajesh Chandra, Vice-Chancellor and President of USP extended a warm welcome as it was his first visit, adding that he was delighted to host him. Professor Chandra congratulated the Hon.
