The Vice Chancellor and President of The University of the South Pacific (USP), Professor Pal Ahluwalia launched Pacific Technical and Further Education’s (Pacific TAFE), Learning Support Services Skill Me Up App and opened the Learning Support and Work Skills Centre on 20 February 2019.

The University of the South Pacific (USP) is hosting a weeklong One Ocean Hub Inception Phase Regional Workshop at the Central Cuisine in Laucala, Suva which began on 18 February 2019.

A new mobile app by The University of the South Pacific (USP) mlearnings’ mobile app team USP Course Module App for the Vanuatu In-country Science Programme (VISP) was launched by Vanuatu’s Prime Minister Honourable Charlot Salwai on 8 February 2019.
The event coincided with the launch of phase two of the VISP, a programme through USP’s Faculty of Science, Technology and Environment (FSTE) which will enable high school graduates to complete various science combinations like Mathematics, Physics, Information Systems, Biology and Chemistry of a Bachelor’s degree from Emalus Campus.

Vanuatu witnessed a historical event on 8 February, 2019 at The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Emalus Campus when Honourable Charlot Salwai, the Prime Minister announced 105 scholarships to freshman in joining the second phase of the Vanuatu In-country Science Programme (VISP II).
VISP is a programme through USP’s Faculty of Science, Technology and Environment (FSTE) which will enable high school graduates to complete various science combinations like Mathematics, Physics, Information Systems, Biology and Chemistry of a Bachelor’s degree from Emalus Campus.

USP climate change expert is IPCC lead author - 21 Feb 2019 09:24:59 am
A climate change expert, Dr Morgan Wairiu from The University of the South Pacific (USP) has been selected as the coordinating lead author for the “Small Islands” chapter in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Sixth Assessment Report (IPCC AR6).
The IPCC releases the assessment reports every five years, with the last report (IPCC AR5) released in 2014.

More than 115 students took advantage of the orientation session hosted by The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme at the Statham Campus on 26 January and 2 February 2019.
The MBA, known for its excellence in the Oceania Region, is offered by USP’s Graduate School of Business (GSB).
Professor Gurmeet Singh, Head of School and MBA Programme Director congratulated the students for securing a place at the University.

$5.25m USP, NZ Partnership Agreement signed - 7 Feb 2019 04:05:54 pm
An Agreement extending the current Partnership between The University of the South Pacific (USP) and New Zealand was signed at the Laucala Campus on 7 February 2019.
The partnership, which will now extend to 31 December 2019, has a total core funding of NZD 5.15 million, which is a three per cent increase from the immediate prior arrangement.

The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Radio Pasifik 89.4fm station had its online streaming launched by Professor Pal Ahluwalia, Vice-Chancellor & President at the Laucala Campus on 6 February 2019.
Mr Allan Stevens, Radio Pasifik Station Manager, acknowledged the presence of Professor Ahluwalia and Dr Akanisi Kedrayate, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Law and Education (FALE).
