The quiz covered six zones namely Fiji North, Fiji West, Fiji Central, Samoa, Solomon Islands and Tonga.

The purpose of the one-hour quiz was to create awareness on ICT related issues in the South Pacific. The quiz was targeted at forms six and seven students and each team comprised of two students.

The coordinator of the West Zone quiz, Mr Dennis Sen said that apart from the regular competition, this year’s quiz featured a professional development survey for school teachers accompanying each team.

Mr Sen, who is also a staff of the Lautoka Campus, explained that the feedback from the teachers would help SPACS in identifying courses or topics relating to IT for organizing future training programmes for high school students.

USP Lautoka Campus Director, Dr Pramila Devi presented the prizes, certificates and awards to the participants.

Jai Narayan College from Suva was the Fiji Central Zone category winner as well as the Fiji national and overall regional winner and they won a trophy, a shield and a laptop for the school as well as other prizes.
