Back to News »

All USP Laucala campus staff are to report to work from Monday 29 February, 2016.

The University of the South Pacific (USP)’s Staff of Laucala Campus, Suva is requested to report to work on Monday 29 February, 2016 to prepare for possible re-start of teaching on Tuesday, 1 March.

For   students of Laucala Campus, USP wishes to advise that the decision when to resume classes at the Laucala Campus would be made on Monday 29th February.  This will depend greatly on how our generators perform during their full load, long duration of continuous operations testing from 6am this morning and tomorrow.

USP Labasa campus is already open and staff and students should attend as normal.

The USP Lautoka Campus still does not have electricity. A decision on the opening of USP Lautoka campus will be made later.

The University wishes to thank its staff and students for their efforts during the cyclone and its aftermath and hopes for their continued goodwill as we move towards resuming operations, as there may be continuing challenges to electricity supply.

Message from the Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Rajesh Chandra
