USP will host the 2016 Pacific Update Conference from 18 -19 July 2016.
The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) School of Economics in conjunction with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Asian Development Bank Institute, and Australian National University’s (ANU) Development Policy Centre is hosting the 2016 Pacific Update Conference from 18 -19 July 2016 at USP’s Japan-Pacific ICT Centre.
This annual conference is the premier forum for discussing important issues of public policy in the Pacific. It gathers policymakers, academics and development practitioners to present research and discuss the latest economic and social developments in the region.
The theme for this Pacific Update Conference is “Inclusive Growth for Enhanced Resilience."
The official opening of the conference will be done by the Attorney-General and Minister for Economy, Public Enterprises, Civil Service and Communications, Honourable Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
The theme of the conference will be addressed through sessions including, State Owned Enterprises Reform, Linking Tourism and Agricultural Development, Disaster Response and Resilience, Fisheries, Roads and Transport Infrastructure, Labour Mobility and Migration, Climate Change and Disaster Response Financing, Information and Communications Technology, Renewable Energy and Developments and Prospects in Fiji.
