Mr Hoerder said that students worked very hard as a team this year and put in a lot of effort into the preparation for the décor despite their busy schedules and assignments during the same week.
“I would like to thank Tourism and Hospitality Students’ Association and the STHM team for their tireless efforts for putting this very successful event together and to celebrate the students’ achievements,” Mr Hoerder said.
He also explained that students studying the Food and Beverage Service and Cost Control (TS109) course participated proactively in this event as part of a major project assessment on the basic skills of event management, theming and décor, budgeting, menu planning, the sequence of service and the dining experience.
Special awards were given during the night for best dressed male, female and artistic attire.
Awards were also given to the STHM debate team for winning the FBE Annual Inter-School Student Debate Series 2016.
Close to 300 tourism and hospitality management students and STHM staff attended the event.
