The Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme at The University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Graduate School of Business (GSB) has been ranked amongst the top five Executive MBA Programmes in the Oceania region by Paris based Ranking agency - Ed Universal.

USP is number five ahead of the MBA programmes in Business Schools from three Australian universities namely University of Wollongong, Sydney’s University of Technology and the University of Western Australia; University of Otago in New Zealand and University of Hawaii.

Professor Pal Ahluwalia, USP Vice-Chancellor and President welcomed the wonderful news and acknowledged the hardworking staff at GSB.

“USP’s MBA has become a market leader among Pacific Island states with an excellent regional reputation for quality and relevance,” he stated.

He added that these characteristics have contributed greatly to the rise in enrolments over the decade and to the graduation of over 500 students.

Professor Gurmeet Singh, Head of GSB and Director MBA said they were excited with news of the ranking results of Ed Universal for 2019.

“Fifth rank of our MBA with 4 stars for 2019 in the Oceania Region is a great achievement for Graduate School of Business and The University of the South Pacific,” he said.

MBAs ranking methodology is based on the reputation of the programme, the salary of the first employment and the student’s satisfaction. By adding the points from each of the 3 criteria in Ed Universal methodology, each programme is given a final score. Ed Universal ranks these programmes according to their final score which is also associated with a star ranking as follows:

* Masters with a final score of 1 to 5.99
** Masters with a final score of 6 to 8.99
*** Masters with a final score of 9 to 11.99
**** Masters with a final score of 12 to 15

USP’s MBA programme has also been accredited by the Association of Master of Business Administration (AMBA), the only international professional body connecting MBA students and graduates, hundreds of accredited business schools and MBA employers in over 110 countries.

The AMBA accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement in postgraduate business education and is earned only by the best programmes in the world after a 4-stage accreditation process.
