Biography

Florence graduated in 2010 from USP with a Bachelor of Commerce degree with double majors in Management & Public Administration and Tourism Studies and is currently pursuing her Postgraduate Diploma in Development Studies.

Florence joined the Research Office in December 2021 as a Project Administrator for the NPOC Scholarship Programme. Prior to joining USP, Florence worked for an Australian joint venture based in Nauru; EHCTS Incorporated as a finance manager from September 2014 to June 2019, looking after coordination of all shipping and logistics for the Nauru Refugee Processing Centre and the Nauru public.

Between September 2010 to July 2012, she worked with the Ecumenical Center for Research, Education and Advocacy as an administration assistant and later joined USP’s School of Education between August 2013 to July 2014 for the Untrained Teachers Project as a Project Assistant, coordinating project activities and liaising with country-based coordinators and government agencies, and visiting Kiribati and Vanuatu on an AusAID funded project focusing on upskilling and empowering teachers.

Florence is passionate about empowerment and capacity building as it allows ordinary people to be enlightened and grow into protagonists that positively contribute to their own growth and consequentially to those around them. Her experience and strengths lie in administration and management and is optimistic about bringing positivity and efficiency to the workplace. She is committed to a sustained effort in refining her contributions to wherever she’s engaged.

Her current role is responsible for all NPOC administration, financial duties, human resource duties, communication, and collaborations with NPOC stakeholders.
