Admissions Process

Application Deadline:

Pre-Degree & Undergraduate :

  • Certified copy of Birth Certificate
  • Certified copy of Passport Biodata Page
  • Certified copies of ALL Academic certificates and Transcripts

Please ensure that your documents are certified by a Public Notary or a Solicitor before submission. All documents not in English need to be translated and certified by a registered translator.

Post-graduate :

  • Certified copy of Birth Certificate
  • Certified copy of Passport Biodata Page

Masters and PhD :

  • Certified copy of Birth Certificate

  • Updated CV with at least 2 work referees
  • Statement of Research Intent (Draft Proposal) approx 2000 words

– Ensure to indicate the following:

  5. Implications
  6. Logistics
  7. Timeframe
  8. Bibliography

IEP:

  • Once your application has been assessed, USP IO will send you your Offer Letter and Acceptance Letter. You will need to return the signed Acceptance Letter within 5 days to confirm your placement.

Study Permit Application Deadline:
Semester 1: 3rd Friday of October
Semester 2: 3rd Friday of May

Study Permit Application Fee Payment Deadline:
Semester 1: 4th Friday of October
Semester 2: 4th Friday of May

Documents you will need to provide for study permit include:

  • 4 regular passport photos – refer to this link https://immigration.gov.fj/guidelines-for-passport-photographs/  for “Guideline for Passport Photos”
  • A completed Immigration Study Permit Application form
  • Medical report – together using the medical report section on pg. 9-10 of the “Study Permit Application form”
  • Police Report – together using the police report section on pg. 8 of the “Study Permit Application form”
  • Request letter – requesting for a study permit to study at USP
  • Immigration Terms & Condition form
  • A certified copy of passport bio-data page of a valid passport (passport MUST be valid for 6 months or more when making the application)
  • A certified copy of Birth Certificate
  • Acceptance letter from USP [IO will provide with this]
  • Financial Statements
    • If Sponsored student – then provide a Sponsorship letter
    • If Private student – then a financial support letter from parents or spouse with their bank statement or other funding source providing evidence of sufficient funds to cover your study period
  • Return ticket/Formal itinerary or Refundable Bond (enquire amount with USP IO)
  • Visa application fee of FJD$523.20 ($328.20 – immigration fee and $200 – nonrefundable bond)

Note: All documents (apart from application forms) can be certified true copy and sent via email and if any documents are in any other language then English, please ensure to have it translate and certified true copy and send it together with the original version of that document.

In regards to payments:

  • You can pay online via credit card at Go to ALL OTHER PAYMENTS. A receipt will be generated after you have paid. Please email us a copy.
  • You also have an option to wire money to the USP main account through Westpac if you do not have a credit card. But you must clearly print your name and state the purpose for payment. * Email international office on international@usp.ac.fj to get bank details.

In addition, study permits/visas for all international students will be requested to apply via the International Office after you have received your Offer letter. Please be reminded that it is extremely important that students work on all the requirements for their Fiji Student Visa/Study Permit BEFORE arrival in Fiji, as required by the Laws of Fiji Immigration.

Accommodation Application Deadline:
Semester 1: 3rd Friday of October
Semester 2: 3rd Friday of May

  • Accommodation may be available but not guaranteed at the Standard Halls of Residence and the Waqavuka Flats.
  • The current standard rate for the Halls of Residence can be found here. Please note this rate is not inclusive of breaks, or early check-in and late check-out.
  • The standard rate for the Waqavuka Flats is US$3,885 including refundable bond (per semester) and does not include breaks, or early check-in and late check-out.
  • You will be charged separately and this will not include food. Students also have the option of finding off-campus accommodation.

Documents to be submitted:

  • Please fill the accommodation form and send it into the International Office
  • Medical Report

A mandatory orientation for all new students which runs for one week.

Monday – Tuesday – are arrival of the students

Wednesday – Information session day.  As a new student, you will be required to attend this orientation as it will cover all important aspects of your study abroad at USP, including course registrations, classes, tutorials, safety and security, campus life, traveling, health, etc.

Thursday – Friday – Registration

Wednesday or Friday evening – Welcome reception

Week 1 Saturday – Special Cultural Immersion Trip is organised
