This USP presentation is organised by

Oceania Centre of Arts and Culture and Pacific Studies (OCACPS) and School of Government, Development and International Affairs (SGDIA) with assistance of Information Technology Service (ITS)

Following televised seminar(s) will be shown at the Video Conference Room 2 (located at the end of corridor) of the Japan-Pacific ICT Centre Building.

• Presentation 1: "Samoan Kids in the City: The Impact of Samoan Parenting Practices on Children’s Independent Mobility and Physical Activity" by Nicola Tava’e, PhD candidate in Public Health, Massey University. This study explores the impact of Samoan parenting practices on children’s independent mobility and physical activity.
• Presentation 2: "The Relationship between Lotu and Ako for Pacific University Students in New Zealand" by Sesimani Havea, MPhil in Social Policy, Massey University. My study explored the relationship between lotu (spirituality/ faith/ church) and ako (formal education) amongst Pacific university students.
• Presentation 3: "Digital Navigators: Young Pasifika Adults Aged 18-25 in Aotearoa New Zealand Navigating Their Friendships and Social Lives Through Social Networking Sites" by Tuiloma Lina-Jodi Vaine Samu, PhD candidate in Human Social Sciences, Massey University. I am exploring how young Pasifika adults are using social networking sites in their friendships, social lives and in the formation/creation of their identities.
