Your singing, your creativity with the flags, you holding our hands and guiding us today reinforces the faith in you as the future of tomorrow.

We are at peace knowing that today’s world is in your hands.

Distinguished guests, my fellow wantoks and friends of Papua New Guinea,

As we conclude this momentous event marking Papua New Guinea’s Official announcement of Papua New Guinea as hosts of the 2025 Conference of Pacific Ministers of Education Meeting, launch of the CPEM 2025 logo and the 2025 CPEM website, I am honored to express our heartfelt gratitude.

I wish to acknowledge and thank the traditional chiefs and landowners of this great land which we are standing on – the Motu Koita people.

Also, let me extend our profound gratitude to the Governor General, Sir Bob Bofeng Dadae, Chairman of Cheshire Disability Services PNG, Management, students and teachers of Cheshire Disability Services PNG.

You allowed us to ensure inclusion is reflected and thank you our sign language interpreters, Ms Molly and Ms Pauline.

The inclusion vibrant identity has given us a platform to engage with us all as one.

To our Pacific Island countries Cook Islands, Fiji, the Federated States of Micronesia, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu including Australia and New Zealand, we look forward to more visionary toktoks to sail the lagatoi of education as one.

Our co-hosts the University of the South Pacific, the team at the Pacific Regional Education Framework Facilitation Unit (PFU) our regional partner, the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat thank you for your vision for education in the region.

Our development partners especially the Global Partnership of Education (GPE), Asian Development Bank, Australian Government and the New Zealand Government with the implementing agencies, the Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC), Pacific Community (SPC), UNESCO and UNICEF, for your support and contributions.

To my colleagues at the Ministry for Education, the Senior Management Team, the CPEM Steering Committee, I extend to you all my appreciation for your commitment to make CPEM 2025 a success.

The Mistress of Ceremonies and Head of the CPEM Secretariat, the CPEM Strategic Communications, Partnerships and Advocacy Lead and all the members of this team.

A special thank you to media teams, ICT teams, E-Learning teams, design teams, and documentary teams of the Department of Education (NDoE), Teaching Service Commission (TSC), and Office of Libraries and Archives (OLA) for your creativity and hard work to ensure this launch reinforces the importance of collaboration in shaping the future of education across the Pacific.

Our heartful thank you to the Chair of CPEM 2025 and Hon Minister for Education, Lucas Dawa Dekena, MP.

Your presence here today made it truly special and we deeply appreciate the wisdom you offer to us.

To our friends from Aotearoa, New Zealand here today thank for you for being invaluable hosts of the inaugural CPEM.

Finally, once again I would like to acknowledge each one of you here today.

Your presence signifies a collective commitment to enhancing education in our region. Together, we will work towards making the 2025 CPEM Conference a success, ensuring that it leaves a lasting impact on our educational systems.
