Detail Information

Gavin Jahir Khan received his Bachelors in Information Technology degree from the Central Queensland University (CQU) in 2007. He is a dedicated staff that joined the University of the South Pacific (USP) as an academic in 2010 where he went on to complete his Masters in Information Systems degree in 2012. Since 2016, Gavin has coordinated and lead the teaching team responsible for delivering the University wide course – “Communications and Information Literacy” more commonly referred to as UU100. He is deeply passionate about promoting Artificial Intelligence (AI) literacy and elevating communications and information literacy skills. His research and innovative works explore the development and use of advanced pedagogical tools and methods for assessment and monitoring, aimed at enhancing the quality of teaching and learning practices. With a keen interest in Computer Vision, he focuses on developing advanced deep learning computational models and its application in medical imaging for his doctorate’s dissertation.
