Rexnal Karan is one of the youngest Teaching Assistant within the Discipline of Geography, Earth Science and Environment. He joined the Joined the University as a student in 2017 and later graduated and became a part time tutor/marker for geography in 2020- 2022 semester 1. In 2022 semester 2 Rexnal became the Teaching Assistant for geography, focusing on teaching Environmental Science and management together with Human and Agricultural geography courses within the discipline.
Apart from this, Rexnal is a member of the GESE Discipline staff representative to the SAGEONS OHS committee and the SAGEONS monthly newsletter team under the HoS office. Rexnal has a strong passion for teaching and has always supported his students in subject at various levels that he teaches. He is dynamic Teaching Assistant and can teach courses from Environmental science and Management, Human geography, Agricultural Geography and GS100 Introduction to Geospatial Methods and Techniques. He also has skills and experience as a panellist, marker, and supervisor for SC356 Research skills.
Rexnal’s skills and expertise are complemented by his strong leadership skills, integrity, time management and enthusiasm for every work in place. Currently he is pursuing his master’s degree in Geography at the University of the South Pacific with the School of Agriculture, Geography, Environment, Oceans and Natural Sciences.
