Bio
Mr. Josaia Waqaivolavola is a Coordinator for the USP Professional Diploma in Legal Practice (PDLP) Programme. Prior to joining USP, Josaia was a Resident Magistrate in Suva, Fiji.
Josaia is a graduate of the USP Bachelor of Laws pioneering class of 1997. After gaining admission to the High Court of Fiji, Josaia worked as a legal practitioner with Minter Ellison Australia in association with KR Bulewa & Associates and as the Manager-Legal at the Carpenters Group of Companies. He also held several positions in the public sector in Fiji, such as State Counsel at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution and Duty Solicitor at the Legal Aid Commission. In addition, Josaia also served as a council member of the Fiji Law Society for two consecutive terms.
Josaia formerly taught introductory law and evidence courses on the USP Bachelor of Laws Programme. He is a keen observer and legal advocate against anthropogenic causes of climate change.
