Detail Information

Jai Raj received his B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of the South Pacific, Suva, Fiji in 2009, 2012 and 2021, respectively. He has worked in various roles including as a tutor and a teaching and learning specialist and is currently an Assistant Lecturer in Mathematics in the School of Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Physics. His research interests lie in control science with the specific interest in the motion planning and control of unmanned aerial vehicles. His research interest includes stability of nonlinear systems, quadrotor unmanned vehicles, multi-agent systems, robust nonlinear control and swarming.

  1. Stability of Nonlinear Systems using Lyapunov and Lyapunov-like functions.
  2. Robotics and Planning Algorithms, where the focus is on designing algorithms that generate useful motions by processing complicated geometric models.
  3. Quadrotor motion planning and control.
  4. Swarm Intelligence, which looks into the behavior of swarms, in particular how a swarm’s collective behavior (navigation) could be mimicked to solve challenging engineering problems.
  5. Differential Equations for Modelling.
  6. A mathematical approach to motion camouflage, that is, the prey-predator model and looking at all the possible scenarios that arise and its stability.
  7. Random walk models of cell migration.
