Prof. Ahmed holds a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering in the area of Fluids Engineering (Energy Efficiency). He has about 25 years of post-PhD teaching and research experience in the area of Energy Science and Engineering. He has held full-time and visiting positions in Japan, New Zealand, India and South Korea apart from the present position. He has extensive experience of developing new UG and PG courses, new programmes and Programme outcomes and preparing accreditation documents. He has worked/is working in the areas of Energy Efficiency, wind energy, wave energy, tidal current energy, OTEC and Bio-energy and have published nearly 140 papers in international journals and conference proceedings. He is a member of a number of conference organizing/advisory committees and has given more than 20 invited talks and presentations in different countries. His name is appearing in the top 2% most cited researchers list for the last 5 years (List compiled by Elsevier and Stanford University).
