Programme Requirements and Regulations

1.    CERTIFICATE III IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP & NEW BUSINESS VENTURE

1.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Must be 18 years and over and a pass in form 4/year 10 with English and or;
    II. Meet the university mature student admission criteria and or;
    III. Have at least 2 years relevant work experience or experience in running a small, medium enterprise or business.

1.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 4 courses: CENB31, CENB32, CENB33, and CENB34

2. CERTIFICATE III IN PATISSERIE (PASTRY & BAKERY)

2.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Be in sound health and physique, confirmed in the most current report by a certified
    II. medical practitioner, and,
    III. Passed, the Senate recognised year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English; or,
    IV. Passed, Certificate II or equivalent from a provider registered on a national qualification framework; or,
    V. Meet the University’s mature student admission criteria.

2.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 5 courses: CECC31, CECC34, CECP31, CECP32, and CECP33

3. CERTIFICATE III IN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

3.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 10/Form 4 or equivalent with English and must be 18 years and over; or
  2. Relevant work experience in Community Development; or
  3. Met the mature student admission criteria

3.2 Courses

This programme comprises 5 courses: CECD31, CECD32, CECD33, LLP14 and LLP15. LLP14 to be completed before LLP15.

4. CERTIFICATE III IN EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE & EDUCATION

4.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English and must be 18 years and over; or
  2. Meet the university mature student admission criteria or;
  3. Have at least 2 years of relevant work experience.

4.2 Courses:

This programme comprises of 5 courses: CEE31, CEE32, CEE33, CEE34 and CEE35.

5. CERTIFICATE III IN COMMERCIAL COOKERY

5.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Be in sound health and physique, confirmed in the most current report by a certified medical practitioner, and,
  2. Passed the Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent examination with English; or,
  3. Passed Certificate II in Cookery or equivalent from a provider registered on a national qualification framework; or,
  4. Meet the University’s mature student admission criteria.

5.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 5 courses: CECC31, CECC32, CECC33, CECC34, CECC35

6. CERTIFICATE III IN INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT CARE (AGING, DISABILITY, HOME AND COMMUNITY)

6.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognized Year 12 or equivalent with English; or
  2. At least one year of relevant work experience; or
  3. Met the mature student admission criteria

6.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 7 courses: CEIS31, CEIS32, CEIS33, CEIS34, CEIS35, CEIS36, and CEIS37

7. CERTIFICATE IN COMMERCIAL COOKERY (LEVEL 4)

7.1 Admission Requirements:

To be admitted to the programme, applicant must;

  1. Be in sound health and physique, confirmed in the most current report by a Certified medical practitioner, and,
  2. Passed the Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent examination with English; or,
  3. Passed Certificate in Commercial Cookery (Level 2) or equivalent from a provider registered on a National Qualification Framework, or,
  4. Meet the University mature student admission criteria.

7.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 9 courses: CECC41, CECC42, CECC43, CECC44, CECC45, CECC46, CETH46, CECC47, CECC48.

8. CERTIFICATE IV IN DISASTER RISK MANAGEMENT (TEAM LEADERSHIP)

8.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year12/Form 6 or equivalent with English;
  2. Two years’ relevant work experience; or
  3. Met the mature student admission criteria.

8.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 5 courses: CED41, CED42, CED43, CED44, CED45

9. CERTIFICATE IN HOSPITALITY OPERATIONS (EVENTS, FOOD & BEVERAGE AND FRONT OFFICE) (LEVEL 4)

9.1 Admission Requirements:

To be admitted to the programme, applicant must;

  1. Be in sound health and physique, confirmed in the most current report by a certified medical practitioner, and,
  2. Passed the Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent examination with English; or,
  3. Passed Certificate in Hospitality (Level 2) or equivalent from a provider registered on a national qualification framework; or,
  4. Meet the University mature student admission criteria.

9.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 8 courses: CETH41, CETH42, CETH43, CETH44, CETH45, CETH46, CECC47 and CETH48

10. CERTIFICATE IV IN ACCOUNTING (LEVEL 4)

10.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Form 6/Year 12 or equivalent with English and Accounting; or,
  2. At least 18 years of age, with 1 year of relevant work experience; or,
  3. Completed a Certificate III in Accounting qualification; or,
  4. Meet the University’s mature student admission criteria.

10.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 6 courses: CEA41, CEA42, CEA43, CEA44, CEA45 and CEA46.

11. CERTIFICATE IV IN HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT (LEVEL 4)

11.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Form 6/Year 12 or equivalent with English; or,
  2. Must be 18 years of age and over, with at least two years relevant work experience; or,
  3. Meet the University’s mature student admission criteria.

11.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 6 courses: CEH41, CEH42, CEH43, CEH44, CEH45 and CEH46

12. CERTIFICATE IV IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

12.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Must be 18 years and over and a pass in form 6/year 12 with English or;
    II. Meet the university mature student admission criteria and or;
    III. Have at least 2 years relevant work experience or,
    IV. Completed the Certificate III in Entrepreneurship and New Business Ventures.

12.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 6 courses: CEBA41, CEBA42, CEI41, , CEBA44, CEBA45, and CEBA46

13. CERTIFICATE IV IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT PRACTICE

13.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Persons are eligible to be admitted to study for the BSB41515 Certificate IV in Project Management Practice if they have:
  2. passed in USP Senate recognized Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English and have relevant work experience; and,
  3. passed the Language, Literacy and Numeracy Assessment; and,
  4. passed the Skills, Knowledge and Experience Assessment.

13.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 4 courses; CEP41, CEP42, CEP43 and CEP44, which contains nine (9) units of competencies which are delivered over a period of twelve (12) months.

14. CERTIFICATE IV IN PROCUREMENT & SUPPLY

14.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognized year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English and/or;
  2. Recommendation and confirmation of two years’ relevant work experience or sponsorship of studies by employer or
  3. Meet the University’s mature student admission criteria.

14.2 Courses:

CEPS41, CEPS42, CEPS43, CEPS44.

15. CERTIFICATE IV IN LIBRARY / INFORMATION STUDIES

15.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English; or
  2. Relevant work experience; or
  3. Met the mature student admission criteria.

15.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 5 courses: CEL41, CEL42, CEL43, CEL44, and CEL45

16. CERTIFICATE IV IN TRAINING & ASSESSMENT

16.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English and minimum of two years’ work experience; or
  2. Extensive workplace, TVET or adult training experience with recommendation from the employer

16.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 4 courses: CET41, CET42, CET43 and CET44

17. CERTIFICATE IN COUNSELLING (LEVEL 4)

17.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. A pass in Senate recognized Form 6/ year 12 with English and have minimum of one year work experience in the relevant field; or
  2. Met the University mature student admission criteria

17.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 4 courses: CECL41, CECL42, CECL43 and CECL44

18. CERTIFICATE IV IN COASTAL FISHERIES & AQUACULTURE COMPLIANCE

18.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with two years field experience; or
  2. Meet the mature student criteria with relevant work experience

18.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 4 courses: CEFA41, CEFA42, CEFA43, CEFA44

19. CERTIFICATE IV IN CYBER SECURITY

19.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology; or
  2. Certificate in Computer Science or Information Technology with at least three years of relevant experience; or
  3. Met the mature student admission criteria.

19.2 Courses:

This programme comprises of 4 courses which are CCS41, CCS42, CCS43, and CCS44

20. CERTIFICATE IN FISHERIES ENFORCEMENT & COMPLIANCE (LEVEL 4)

20.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English and two years’ relevant work experience; or
  2. Met the mature student criteria with relevant work experience.

20.2 Courses:

This programme comprises of 5 courses: CEFC41, CEFC42, CEFC43, CEFC44 and CEFC45.

21. CERTIFICATE IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SUPPORT) (LEVEL 4)

21.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English; or
  2. 18 years of age and over with at least 1 year of relevant IT work experience or;
  3. Completed relevant Certificate II or III in IT qualification or;
  4. Meet the university mature student admission criteria

21.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 6 courses: CEI41, CEI42, CEI43, CEI44, CEI45, and CEI46

22. CERTIFICATE IN PATISSERIE (PASTRY & BAKERY) (LEVEL 4)

22.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Be in sound health and physique, confirmed in the most current report by a certified medical practitioner; and,
  2. Passed the Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent examination with English; or,
  3. Passed Certificate in Patisserie Level 2 or equivalent from a provider registered on a National Qualification Framework; or,
  4. Meet the University mature student admission criteria.

22.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 9 courses: CECP41, CECP42, CECP43, CECP44, CECC41, CECC44, CECC47, CETH46, CECP45

23. CERTIFICATE IV IN PACIFIC OCEAN FINANCE

23.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 with English; and
  2. Minimum of two years of relevant work experience; or
  3. Met the mature student admission criteria.

23.2 Courses:

This programme comprises of 4 courses which are CEOF41, CEOF42, CEOF43, and CEOF44

24. CERTIFICATE IV IN RESILIENCE (CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION & DISASTER RISK REDUCTION)

24.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 with English and a minimum of two years of relevant work experience; or
  2. Met the mature student admission criteria; or
  3. Completion of Certificate III in Resilience; or
  4. Any special case where the above requirements are not met can be approved by Director or nominee on case by case basis.

24.2 Courses:

This programme comprises of 4 courses which are CER41, CER42, CER43, and CER45

25. DIPLOMA IN ACCOUNTING (LEVEL 5)

25.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in year 12 or equivalent with English and at least 2 years of Accounting work experience or;
    II. Completed Certificate in Accounting (Level 4) or equivalent qualification or;
    III. Meet the university mature student admission criteria.

25.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 7 courses: CEA51, CEA52, CEA53, CEA54, CEA55, CEA56 and CEA57

26. DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (LEVEL 5)

26.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. A pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English and at least 2 years of relevant work experience; or
    II. Completed the Certificate in Business Administration (Level 4); or
    III. Meet the university mature student admission criteria

26.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 7 courses: CEBA51, CEBA52, CEBA53, CEBA54, CEBA55, CEBA56 and CEBA57

27. DIPLOMA OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT (LEVEL 5)

27.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Two (2) or more years of work experience with pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English or;
  2. Completed relevant Certificate IV or equivalent registered on a national qualifications framework or where this does not exist is recognised by the USP Senate and from a recognised provider. Where entry is on the basis of and existing Certificate IV in Project Management is from a non USP provider, it is the student’s responsibility to follow the appropriate cross credit policies in order to meet the requirements to graduate.

27.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 6 courses: CEP51, CEP52, CEP53, and CEP54, CEP55, and CEP56.

28. DIPLOMA IN HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT (LEVEL 5)

28.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English and at least 2 years of relevant work experience; or
    II. Completed Certificate in Human Resources Management (Level 4); or
    III. Meet the university mature student admission criteria

28.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 7 courses: CEH51, CEH52, CEH53, CEH54, CEH55, CEH56, and CEH57.

29. DIPLOMA OF COUNSELLING (LEVEL 5)

29.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Must have minimum pass in Year 12/Form 6 with English and have relevant work experience in the field; or
    II. Met the University mature student admission criteria

29.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 8 courses: CECL41, CECL42, CECL43, CECL44 and CECL51, CECL52, CECL53, CECL54.

30. DIPLOMA IN HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT (LEVEL 5)

30.1 Admission Requirements:

To be admitted to the programme, applicants must;

  1. Be in sound health and physique, confirmed in the most current report by a certified medical practitioner, and,
  2. Passed Certificate in Hospitality Operations (Food & Beverage, Front Office and Events) (Level 4) or equivalent from a provider registered on a national qualification.

30.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 12 courses: CETH41, CETH42, CETH43, CETH44, CETH45, CETH46,CECC47, CETH48, CETH51, CETH52, CETH53 and CETH54

31. DIPLOMA IN CULINARY ARTS & MANAGEMENT (LEVEL 5)

31.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Be in sound health and physique, confirmed in the most current report by a certified medical practitioner, and,
  2. Have passed Certificate in Commercial Cookery (Level 4) or equivalent from a provider registered on a national qualification framework.

31.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 13 courses: CECC41, CECC42, CECC43, CECC44, CECC45, CECC46, CECC47, CETH46, CECC48, CECC51, CECC52, CETH53, CETH54.

32. DIPLOMA OF LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SERVICES (LEVEL 5)

32.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/ Form 6 or equivalent with English; or
  2. Completed Certificate IV in Library/ Information Studies; or
  3. Met the mature student criteria with relevant work experience.

32.2 Courses:

This programme comprises of 8 courses which are CEL51, CEL52, CEL53, CEL54, CEL55, CEL56, CEL57 and CEL58

33. DIPLOMA IN EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE & EDUCATION (LEVEL 5)

33.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. USP Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education (Level 3) or equivalent.

33.2 Courses:

This programme comprises of 7 courses which are: CEDE51, CEDE52, CEDE53, CEDE54, CEDE55, CEDE56 and CEDE57

*Transition phase with the new structure approved for 2024 S2

34. DIPLOMA OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (LEVEL 5)

34.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English and at least 2 years of IT work experience or;
    II. Completed Certificate in Information Technology (Level 4) or equivalent qualification or;
    III. Meet the university mature student admission criteria

34.2 Courses

This programme comprises 6 courses: CEI51, CEI52, CEI53, CEI54, CEI55, and CEI56

35. DIPLOMA OF FISHERIES INVESTIGATION AND PROSECUTION (LEVEL 5)

35.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English; or
  2. Minimum of three years of relevant work experience; or
  3. Completed relevant Certificate IV in Fisheries qualification; or
  4. Met the mature student admission criteria.

35.2 Courses

This programme comprises 5 courses: CEFIP51, CEFIP52, CEFIP53, CEFIP54 and CEFIP55

36. DIPLOMA IN RESILIENCE – LEVEL 5

36.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Completion of Certificate 4 in Resilience or any other related field; or
    II. Minimum of two years of relevant work experience; or
    III. Met the mature student admission criteria

36.2 Courses:

This programme comprises of 6 courses: CER51, CER52, CER53, CER54, CER55, and CER56

37. DIPLOMA IN MONITORING, EVALUATION AND LEARNING – LEVEL 6

37.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Completed Fiji Year 13, or equivalent, with a pass in English and at least 2 years of experience in project or programme implementation; or,
  2. At least a Level 4 qualification, or equivalent, from a recognised institution; with at least 1 year work experience; or,
  3. Met the mature student admission criteria prescribed by the training provider and be proficient in the language of instruction.

37.2 Courses:

This programme comprises of 7 courses: CEME61, CEME62, CEME63, CEME64, CEME65, CEME66 and CEME67

38. DIPLOMA IN NETWORKING AND CYBEROPERATIONS  – LEVEL 6

38.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English; and
  2. Completed Certificate in Information Technology (Level 4) or equivalent qualifications or;
  3. Met the University mature student criteria.

38.2 Courses:

This programme comprises of 7 courses: CENC61, CENC62, CENC63, CENC64, CENC65, CENC66, CENC67 and CENC68

39. ADVANCED DIPLOMA OF RESILIENCE – LEVEL 6

39.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Completion of Diploma of Resilience (Level 5) or any other related field; or
    II. Relevant work experience equivalent to Diploma of Resilience Level 5 (assessed through the RPL process)

39.2 Courses:

This programme comprises of 6 courses: CER61, CER62, CER63, CER64, CER65, and CER66

40. PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA IN PROCUREMENT & SUPPLY (LEVEL 5)

40.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English; and
  2. Recommendation and confirmation of two years’ relevant work experience or sponsorship of studies by employer; or
  3. Met the University mature student criteria.

40.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 8 courses: CEPS41, CEPS42, CEPS43, CEPS44, CEPS53, CEPS54, CEPS57, CEPS58.

41. PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA IN PUBLIC SECTOR MANAGEMENT (LEVEL 6)

41.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Be at least 18 years and have a minimum pass in form 6/year 12 with English; and
    II. Have at least two years’ work experience in the public sector; or
    III. Meet the University’s mature admission criteria.

41.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 6 courses: CEPSM61, CEPSM62, CEPSM63, CEPSM64, CEB64, CEB66.

42. PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT (LEVEL 6)

42.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Five (5) or more years of work experience and pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English; and
  2. Support letter from employer stating work experience and responsibilities

42.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 6 courses which is made up of 4 core courses; CEB61, CEB62, CEB63, CEB64; and 2 courses to be selected from the 4 electives; CEB65, CEB66, CEB67 and CEB68.

43. PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA IN DIGITAL MARKETING 

43.1 Admission Requirements:

  1. Pass in Senate recognised Year 12/Form 6 or equivalent with English; and
  2. Recommendation and confirmation of two years’ relevant work experience; or
  3. Met the University mature student criteria.

43.2 Courses:

This programme comprises 10 courses:

CEDM50, CEDM51, CEDM52, CEDM53, CEDM54, CEDM55, CEDM56, CEDM57, CEDM58 and CEDM59.
