Dr. Nicholas Halter joined USP as a Lecturer in History in 2016. He currently teaches courses on Pacific history and historiography, and has ongoing interests in the history of Australia’s relationship with the Pacific Islands, histories of tourism and travel, and the Micronesian region. Nicholas was awarded a PhD in History by the Australian National University in 2015. His thesis explored Australian travel writing about the Pacific Islands from c.1880-1941.His most recent project was the development of the Fijian History mobile app in 2018. In collaboration with third year undergraduate History students at USP, this project is an attempt to document some of the historical sites of Fiji.
