USP Solomon Islands Campus Health Promotion Awareness COVID-2019 updates.

NOTICE: 3

The University of the South Pacific Solomon Islands Campus, would like to inform the Public that, due to the impending threat of the Corona Virus (COVID-19) pandemic, the campus has put the following safety measures in place with immediate effect until further notice.

 

As per advisory from Laucala Campus, Solomon Islands Campus will enforce the following advisory hours for students and staff as of 26th March 2020, for SMI and Lawson Tama Campus sites.

 

1) All students arte requested to stay at home nd check their student emails / Moodle for further updates. Please note that there will be no tests or other forms of assessments during the extended break.

 

2) CAMPUS OPENING/CLOSING HOURS (will be strictly followed)

 

(a) STUDENTS:

 

MONDAY SUNDAY: CLOSED

 

(b) STAFF:

 

MONDAY FRIDAY: 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M (subject to change).

SATURDAY & SUNDAY: CLOSED

 

3) If Solomon Islands Government declares a State of Emergency, the campus will be closed with immediate effect for an indefinite period of time and Students and Staff will be advised to stay at home until further notice.

1) CAMPUS OPENING/CLOSING HOURS (will be strictly followed)

 

MONDAY FRIDAY: 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

SATURDAY & SUNDAY: CLOSED

 

2) Students from any other Campuses are NOT allowed to enter the Campus unless they have fulfilled 14 days of self/isolation or quarantine.

 

3) Social distancing (Please keep 1 meter away from each other)

 

4) Any person who is having severe flu or cough will not be allowed on Campus and kindly asked to stay away from the Campus.

 

5) Students and Staff are advised to always wash their hands with the soap/hand-wash and water provided at the Campus.

 

6) Students and Staff are encouraged to wear face mask and hand gloves at all times.

 

7) If Government declares a State of Emergency, the campus will be closed with immediate effect for an indefinite period of time and Students and Staff will be advised to stay at home until further notice.

Dear Staff and Students,

 

Please note that the following decisions are made today in relation to the USP COVID-19 Management Plan:

 

(1) All Staff are expected to report to duty until further notice.

(2) Mid-semester Break is extended to 6th April 20202.

(3) Due to the extended Mid-Semester Break, assignment / project due dates are extended by 1 week.

(4) The opening hours for the Solomon Islands Campus will be from 8am to 5pm weekdays only.

(5) The Campus Library will be open from 8am to 5pm weekdays only.

(6) The Computer Labs will be open from 8am to 5pm on weekdays only. However access will be restricted to those who have genuine assignments or projects to do.

(7) THERE WILL BE NO NIGHT STUDY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

(8) Movement of students to the campus during the Mid Semester Break will be limited. Only students who have a valid ID card and genuine reasons will be allowed access.

(9) THE CAMPUS WILL BE CLOSED DURING THE WEEKENDS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!
