The Fourth “Fijian Ingredients, Chinese Cuisine”——Chinese Food Experience Activity at the Confucius Institute of The University of the South Pacific(CI-USP)

On the 20th and 21st of April 2017, the Confucius Institute at The University of the South Pacific (CI-USP) held a two-day of “Fijian Ingredients, Chinese Cuisine” Chinese food experience activity. More than one hundred students from the School of Tourism and Hospitality of USP were the participants for the activity.
With the guidance of CI-USP teachers, students learned how to make noodles and dumplings. Students are divided into different groups to make noodles and dumplings. The difference from previous years is that CI-USP teachers prepared videos on Chinese noodle and dumpling for students to watch so that they could learn the culture, the process and the difference between South China and North China noodles and dumplings. Students said that they enjoyed learning Chinese culture and the teacher of the School of Tourism and Hospitality said they might have Chinese culture test included in their final semester exam.
This is the fourth time that CI-USP cooperating with the School of Tourism and Hospitality, every year new students attending this activity and they enjoy experiencing the Chinese cooking culture activities and know more about CI-USP, and the benefits to take up Chinese credit course with CI-USP.
