Dr Kabir Mamun received his Bachelor of Engineering (2003) degree from Islamic University of Technology, Bangladesh. He received his Master Engineering (By Research, 2007) degree and the Ph.D. (2012) degree from Dublin City University (DCU), Ireland, in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering.  He joined The University of the South Pacific (USP) in 2013.  He worked as Mechanical & Instrumentation Design Engineer at Sonex Metrology Ltd., Ireland which is a metrology tools design company for the semiconductor industries. He has work experience as a Research Assistant at the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in the prestigious Dublin City University (DCU).  He started his professional career as an Assistant Production/Manufacturing Engineer in Sun power Ceramic industry, Bangladesh (2003). He also worked as a Teaching Assistant during his Research assistantship tenure.

Surface & Corrosion Engineering, Renewable Energy, Lean manufacturing, Machine Vision, Image processing, Pattern Recognition  and Robotics Application

Metrology & Instrumentation, Engineering Graphics & Design, Manufacturing Processes, Mechanical & Engineering Design, Maintenance & Reliability Engineering, Mechatronics 

Awards/Scholastic achievements:

1.Received scholarship from the project "iWARD", funded by the European Commission in the Sixth Framework Programme, FP-6 (2007-2009).

2.Achieved a scholarship from DCU to pursue Research Masters in Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering (2003).
